Stephen Marquardt to become CEO of Blue Earth Capital

• Blue Earth Capital AG (BlueEarth) has appointed Stephen Marquardt as its new CEO effective March 1, 2022. He has a long and successful track record as CEO and board member in the private equity business and in impact investing.
• Stephen Marquardt replaces long-time CEO and co-founder Urs Baumann, who will leave BlueEarth as of May 31, 2022, but will remain associated with the company as an advisor to the Board of Directors and as an investor in the funds.

Stephen Marquardt will join BlueEarth on January 17, 2022, and will assume the CEO role on March 1, 2022, after a short induction period. Urs Baumann will assist him until his departure to ensure a smooth transition in operational management.

Stephen Marquardt has focused on private equity and venture capital throughout his financial career. He served as CEO of private equity firm Doughty Hanson & Co.; on the Board and investment committee of Bridges Ventures, the UK-based specialist private markets investor focusing on impact investments; and on the Executive Committee of Coller Capital Ltd. Prior to these roles, he was a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch. He holds degrees from Harvard University (MBA), Loyola University of Chicago (JD) and Northwestern University (BA).
