Thomas Heinzl

Thomas Heinzl serves on the Board of Blue Earth Capital. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Vontobel and a member of the Group Executive Committee. At Vontobel, he has led a far-reaching transformation, like building a new data platform, and embedding advanced AI, while overhauling risk management, treasury/ALM, and trading oversight. He established the firm’s corporate ESG governance and strategy , and has chaired or served on boards of regulated entities in Germany and Dubai. Earlier, he was COO of UBS Asset Management and UBS EMEA, and a Partner at McKinsey leading the Swiss private banking and asset-management practice. He holds a doctorate in quantitative finance from the University of St. Gallen and an ETH Zurich engineering degree with a focus on AI and databases. He actively supports startups in renewables, fintech, and life sciences and mentors young professionals entering the field.
