Alison Klein

Alison Klein is managing director of Akmazo, an independent investment advisory firm dedicated to helping investors flourish through strategy formation, due diligence, firm-building and investment selection. Alison is an experienced private equity investor with nearly 20 years of experience in funds and co-investments in both developed and emerging markets. For over 10 years she was part of the private equity team at FMO, the Dutch development finance institution, with exposure to generalist, renewable energy, and venture funds; financial institutions, forestry, and co-investments in multiple sectors in Africa and Latin America. She frequently served on the global PE screening IC and co-led both the global PE Funds team and the global Forestry team. Previously she was part of the funds team at AlpInvest Partners where she covered cleantech, venture, growth capital and buyout funds in Western Europe and emerging markets; and earlier in her career she managed to catch the peak of the internet bubble in Silicon Valley at late-stage venture firm Focus Ventures.

Alison is a dual US and Dutch citizen. She has an MBA from INSEAD and an AB from Harvard College.
