PG Impact Investments, the impact investment firm owned by the PG Impact Investments Foundation has appointed Kayode Akinola as member of the Executive Board and head of its newly formed global private equity direct investments practice, complimenting the already existing private debt and private equity funds & co-investments businesses.

Kayode Akinola, who was most recently at investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) in London, brings to bear extensive experience across developed and emerging markets. He will be joined by Benjamin Hogan previously at Inherent Group in New York and Claude Kamga from Wendel Group in London to support the launch of the firm’s new Climate Growth Strategy.

The planned Climate Growth fund has a target size of USD 300 million focused on aiding GHG neutrality by supporting among other things the energy transition, electrification, industrial process optimization and a circular economy. The fund will make growth equity investments sourced via offices in London, New York and Singapore and will be supported by a total of 11 investment professionals at final close.

The Wietlisbach Foundation has committed USD 50 million as anchor investor and further anchor investors are in advanced due diligence.  “We are excited by this next evolutionary stage at PG Impact Investments and look forward to continuing to mobilise capital and expertise towards addressing pressing social and environmental challenges globally” Urs Wietlisbach, co-founder of Partners Group and Chairman of PG Impact Investments.
